CNAA Committee Members

All committee members will step down at the AGM and there will then be an election for the posts. All posts are available and any member can stand for a post. All you need is someone to nominate you and someone to second you for the position. If more than one person is nominated for the same position, then it will go to a show of hands of the association members present at the AGM.

All positions are listed below, and where a current member of the committee is willing to restand, their name, nominator and seconder are also listed. Don’t let this stop you though if you are particularly interested in a role, as the committee welcomes change and we are happy if passionate members want to get more involved with the workings of the allotments. 

What does the Committee do anyway? Here is a quick overview of just some of the activities the committee is involved in:

• Negotiating provision of the Cottonmill orchard and maintaining it
• Creating the communal area and building the shed on Nunnery
• Providing support and encouragement for tenants on Sopwell
• Organising the summer barbecue
• Arranging the summer show
• Liaising with the council and building up good relations with council officials
• Organising manure delivery and seed orders
• Publishing a quarterly newsletter and maintaining the web site
• Encouraging newcomers with the popular question and answer sessions

Committee Roles – Remember, all the roles listed below will be available at the AGM, if you are interested in volunteering, speak to one of the current committee or email us at committee@stalbansallotments.co.uk. If you decide to stand, then you need two people to support you, and to let us know by Sunday May 23rd.
