We had a very successful and productive AGM on May 30th. Our chairwoman Hazel outlined the previous year - with lows like the death of one of the association founding members George Bennett. Other low points included flooding, frost and drought (when the Cottonmill water tanks were not switched on). High points included the full take up of allotments on the Sopwell. site.

Alison Shipperlee gave an outline of the accounts overview and details (members only). It was stressed that because the membership year had changed, the accounts reflect an 18 month period so there are sometimes two lots of expenditure but only one of income.

We then elected a full committee - with no vacancies and several new committee members. Thanks weregiven to Carol Harlow had stood down and also to Terry
for his hard work collecting subs and hiring out machinery both of which provide the association with substantial incomes.

Hazel also reported the death of Roger Aylett (see here for our memorial). It was decided to plant trees on the Cottonmill orchard in memory of George and Roger.

We then had a very well supported plant swap with free sausages and homemade bread. The bread caused a fair amount of interest as it was made with a natural yeast starter and not commercial yeast. Instructions are on the recipes page.

Sorry about the paucity of photographs but I was cooking!
